2D Concept Artist (SPIDERS)

JOB DESCRIPTION

For their next RPG for PC and home consoles, SPIDERS is looking for several 2D concept artists (character and/or environment and/or props). 

We invite you to join the passionate team behind The Technomancer, GreedFall and Steelrising! 

Working under the Artistic Director, your main tasks will be to create 2D visuals of characters, equipment, or scenery, and to participate in defining the artistic vision of the whole game. 

Concept artists will develop all the necessary elements to build the graphic library of the game world, to inspire and assist the entire graphic production team. 

This will be a freelance position, with possible visits to SPIDERS’ offices in Paris.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your tasks will mainly consist of: 

·        Producing images in a semi-realistic style in accordance with a graphic charter defined by the Artistic Director;

·        Making sketches or artworks in black and white or colour that meet specific production needs;

·        Designing creatures, characters, armour and weapons in the defined visual style;

·        Designing scenes (atmosphere, player view…) in environments in the defined visual style;

·        Designing assets (detailed scenery or gameplay props) in environments and in the defined visual style 

QUALIFICATIONS

·        You have a solid foundation in traditional drawing techniques and in spatial visualisation;

·        You have a perfect understanding of anatomy;

·        You have a perfect understanding of composition, colouring, hues, atmospheres and light;

·        You understand and know how to adapt to technical constraints and successive iterations;

·        You have strong observational skills and a broad understanding of visual arts;

·        Fluent French or English;

·        Minimum 2 years experience, ideally in realistic and semi-realistic styles. We will pay particular attention to the quality of the portfolio presented

 

Skills: 

·        Teamwork;

·        Be an active listener;

·        Have a positive, curious and pro-active attitude;

·        Adobe Photoshop CS

NICE TO HAVE

·        Experience in video games would be appreciated
